On this 3-day tour you’ll see India’s ancient holy city of Varanasi, where you’ll explore its temples and see the ghats along the Ganges during an early morning boat ride. You’ll also marvel at the mystical and erotic carvings on the temples at Khajuraho.
In the early morning we transfer to the airport for flight to Varanasi (Flight Fare is not included). After arrival you’ll check in at your hotel. In the afternoon we tour this ancient city situated on the banks of the holy River Ganga. We’ll see the bathing ghats, Sacred Bull, the Well of Knowledge, the Vishwanath Temple, Banaras Hindu University and the Marble Shiva Temple. Then we will move on to Sarnath with its stupa, Buddhist temple and museum.
You’ll take a morning boat ride along the Ganges River to see the famous bathing ghats of Varanasi and the cremation sites. Watching the locals worship at the ghats is one of the unique experiences of India. Later we’ll transfer to the airport to depart for Khajuraho (Flight Fare is not included). In the afternoon we’ll visit the world-famous Hindu Temples built by the Chandela kings from 950-1050 A.D. These temples are most well known for their erotic and mystical sculptures.
On the final morning of the tour we’ll continue our sightseeing of the famous temples of Khajuraho and later transfer to the airport for the flight to Delhi.
Hotels used on this tour include the Hotel India or similar in Varanasi and the Usha Bundela in Khajuraho.
